Well, the collection is finished and it went down the runway on Friday April 24th. The festival as usual was a great success and had a great energy to it. I am working on a look book at the moment and am looking for stores in Toronto and Montreal that will take some of my pieces. Women X Women Photography Exhibit

As part of the events of LG Fashion Week an exhibit celebrating Canada’s most prominent and emerging female fashion photographers was shown at Fashion House on King Street West.

Each photographer unveiled a never before seen high fashion editorial story that addresses the theme of “Women by Women”. The exhibited works will capture beauty, vulnerability, and strength of the model through the photographer’s eyes with the artistic direction drawing on the photographer’s own memories, style, and dreams.

The fabulous photographer Sarah Thomson used several of my pieces for her photographs. The first photo was published in the Women x Women book that was sold at the event.

Photoshoot of Belgian Pieces

Mastersclass with Sandra Backlund

At the end of October I traveled to San Francisco for an international competition and workshop with the Arts of Fashion Foundation. The foundation seeks to inspire creativity and art within fashion by having European designers teach workshops to North American students.

This year I was honored to work with Sandra Backlund for a workshop she ran called "Knit by Heart". Working with a group of 5 designers we hand knit many pieces and collage them together to create a unique knit garment inspired by chess pieces.

Check out this video of the results of the four day workshop.

La Cambre Exhibit, Brussels Belgium

I have just returned from a summer program at the Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Arts Visuels de la Cambre. The course is the first of it's kind - La Cambre has not opened it's doors to North American students in the past. The program focused on looking at materials, the body and fashion from a new perspective. Belgian designers and teachers alike are known for their experimentation, exploration and innovation which we have been exposed to during these last intensive four weeks. We began the program by creating a "new body" or dress form which built up volume and odd shapes in order to start thinking about the body in new ways. Through a series of different briefs we explored and experimented with volume, new shapes, hand knitting and many many hand stitches.

The program was finished with an exhibition of our work that was shown to the Belgian and Parisian press. The experience was incredibly enlightening and challenging and will definitely help to inspire my next collection.
